{"id":10629,"date":"2019-10-10T12:05:06","date_gmt":"2019-10-10T07:05:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/?p=10629"},"modified":"2019-10-10T12:05:06","modified_gmt":"2019-10-10T07:05:06","slug":"rugby-world-cup-chaos-england-france-and-new-zealand-italy-games-canceled-due-to-super-typhoon-hagibis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/eng\/archives\/10629","title":{"rendered":"Rugby World Cup Chaos: England-France and New Zealand-Italy Games Canceled Due to Super Typhoon Hagibis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"sp-story-body__introduction\">wo Rugby World Cup matches scheduled for Saturday have been canceled on safety grounds as Super Typhoon Hagibis approaches Japan, tournament organizers announced at a press conference on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The Pool B match between New Zealand and Italy in the city of Toyota, and the Pool C match between England and France in Tokyo, are so far the only games affected.<\/p>\n<p>The games will not be rescheduled and two points will be awarded to each team, in line with tournament rules, organizers said.<\/p>\n<p>It means England progress as winners of Pool C, two points ahead of France in second place, and face a probable quarter-final against Australia, with Wales expected to top Pool D and therefore play the French.<\/p>\n<p>France would have the advantage over Wales of a two-week rest, compared to one week.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The decision to cancel matches has not been taken lightly,&#8221; said tournament director Alan Gilpin.<\/p>\n<p>Ireland&#8217;s match with Samoa in Fukuoka is expected to go ahead as scheduled.<\/p>\n<p>The typhoon, described as the biggest of the year, is set to wreak havoc in Tokyo and surrounding areas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>wo Rugby World Cup matches scheduled for Saturday have been canceled on safety grounds as Super Typhoon Hagibis approaches Japan, tournament organizers announced at a press conference on Thursday.
