{"id":10330,"date":"2019-10-04T16:43:50","date_gmt":"2019-10-04T11:43:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/?p=10330"},"modified":"2019-10-04T16:43:50","modified_gmt":"2019-10-04T11:43:50","slug":"incredibly-rare-monkey-born-at-australian-zoo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/eng\/archives\/10330","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Incredibly Rare&#8217; Monkey Born at Australian Zoo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">One of the world&#8217;s rarest monkeys has been born at an Australian zoo.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The male Francois&#8217; Langur, also known as Francois&#8217; leaf monkey, has distinctive orange fur, is one week old and has not yet been named.<\/p>\n<p>Critically-endangered, the animal is only found in China and Vietnam where it is threatened by poachers and loss of habitat from encroaching development.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Seeing Francois&#8217; Langurs in the wild is incredibly rare, but seeing a baby is even more so,&#8217; said senior zookeeper, Jane Marshall.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Not a lot of people know about Francois&#8217; Langurs as a species, but these beautiful animals are very vibrant animals, who are incredibly agile and intelligent.&#8217; she added.<\/p>\n<p>The baby&#8217;s bright orange hair lasts just a few weeks before it begins to darken to the colour of its mother Noel&#8217;s hair.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Fran\u00e7ois\u2019 Langurs live in groups of females called harems.<\/p>\n<p>The zoo estimates there are only about 3,000 of the species left in the wild.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One of the world&#8217;s rarest monkeys has been born at an Australian zoo.
