{"id":10323,"date":"2019-10-04T16:24:15","date_gmt":"2019-10-04T11:24:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/?p=10323"},"modified":"2019-10-04T16:24:15","modified_gmt":"2019-10-04T11:24:15","slug":"samsung-ends-smartphone-production-in-china","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/eng\/archives\/10323","title":{"rendered":"Samsung Ends Smartphone Production in China"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Samsung Electronics on Friday said it has ended the production of smartphones in its last factory in China.\u00a0 Production at the factory in southern China&#8217;s Huizhou ended last month, the company said in an email on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>It said it made &#8220;the difficult decision to cease operations of Samsung Electronics Huizhou&#8221; in order &#8220;to enhance efficiency&#8221; in its manufacturing.<\/p>\n<p>The statement added the decision was part of its ongoing efforts to \u201cenhance efficiency in our production facilities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Samsung&#8217;s market share in China has dwindled to near insignificance as competitors like Huawei and Xiaomi got the upper hand.<\/p>\n<p>The South Korean company has moved a large share of its smartphone production to Vietnam and had shuttered a factory in northeastern China&#8217;s Tianjin last year.<\/p>\n<p>Samsung is the world&#8217;s biggest maker of semiconductors and smartphones and a major producer of display screens.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Samsung Electronics on Friday said it has ended the production of smartphones in its last factory in China.\u00a0 Production at the factory in southern China&#8217;s Huizhou ended last month, the company said in an email on Friday.
