U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday described a formal impeachment inquiry by Democratic members of the House of Representatives as a \u201ccoup\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am coming to the conclusion that what is taking place is not an impeachment, it is a COUP,\u201d Trump said on Twitter.<\/p>\n
He said the attempt is intended \u201cto take away the Power of the People, their VOTE, their Freedoms, their Second Amendment, Religion, Military, Border Wall and their God-given rights as a Citizen of the United States of America!\u201d<\/p>\n
On the other hand. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has accused Democrats of bullying his staff as a part of an impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n
He\u00a0 tweeted\u00a0 that requests for five officials to appear before a committee were “not feasible”.<\/p>\n
Democrats have been issuing summonses as part of the inquiry, which centres on a phone call between the two.<\/p>\n
The House began its impeachment investigation into Trump last week. At issue is a July 25 phone conversation the president had with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in which Trump repeatedly pressed Zelensky to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, over unsubstantiated claims of corruption.<\/p>\n
