Thousands of people infected with COVID-19 are still suffering from severe weakness and lethargy after recovering from the virus, European health experts says.
While societies are also experiencing medical and economic problems, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), one in every 10 patients suffer from the effects of COVID for 12 weeks and in some cases even longer. Medical experts have dubbed it Long COVID or Post COVID.
According to Professor Martin Ricky, people with Long COVID suffer from extreme weakness, chest, nerve pain, shortness of breath and fog on the mind. The UK’s Medical Research Institute has issued guidelines to provide services to patients with concerns in mind as there is not much information in Long or Post COVID.
