Ten security personnel including a captain were martyred in two separate attacks by militants in North Waziristan and Balochistan state of Pakistan, military’s Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
In the first attack, six soldiers were slain when extremists from across the Afghan border opened fire on a patrol in the tribal district of North Waziristan,on Saturday.
Pakistan’s Taliban, the Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan (TTP), claimed responsibility for the attack, as it has for previous assaults in the region.
In a separate terror incident in Balochistan, four Frontier Corps (FC) troops were martyred when terrorists opened fire.
Prime Minister Imran Khan on July 27 expressed his condolences to the families of those killed in the most recent attacks.
“I salute our armed forces personnel who continue to lay down their lives fighting terrorists to keep the nation safe,” he wrote on Twitter.
