Trump Apologises for Re-Tweeting Anti-Muslim Videos

LONDON – The US President Donald Trump has offered an apology for re-tweeting anti-Muslim videos from Britain First, a far-right group.

Trump apologised after being asked to do so by the top British journalist, Piers Morgan.

He was interviewed by Morgan for his show “Good Morning Britain” on Friday.

Trump, while offering an apology, said that he was unaware of the organisation when he made re-tweets.

He said he was ready to apologise because he did not want to involved with, the “horrible racist people.”

“If you are telling me they’re horrible people, horrible, racist people, I would certainly apologise if you’d like me to do that,” he told presenter Piers Morgan.

Last year in November, Trump’s response to British Prime Minister Theresa May’s reaction was contrary to his current stance.

May had criticised him for re-tweeting a far-right group’s tweets.

He told the Prime Minister, via Twitter: “Theresa @theresamay, don’t focus on me, focus on the destructive Radical Islamic Terrorism that is taking place within the United Kingdom. We are doing just fine!”
