U19 World Cup: India to Date Pakistan in Semifinals
CHRISTCHURCH: India will face upbeat Pakistan in the second semifinal of the Under19 Cricket World Cup on January 30.
India crushed Bangladesh by 131 runs in the last quarterfinal today, at Queenstown, New Zealand.
Prithvi Shaw, Indian skipper opted to bat first after winning the toss. With his 40 runs in top order, followed by 86 runs from Shubman Gill and 50 from Abhishek Sharma, India posted a fighting total of 265/10 in 49.2 overs.
Bangladesh in response were shaky. They kept losing wickets at a regular interval, resultantly slumping to 134 runs in 43rd over. Their opener Pinak Ghosh was top scorer with 43 runs.
India registered a comprehensive win by 131 runs to set a date with Pakistan in the second semifinal of the World Cup on Tuesday, January 30.
Pakistan had already qualified for the semifinal after outclassing South Africa in a thrilling encounter earlier this week.
Whereas, Australia and Afghanistan will meet in the first semifinal of the tournament on Monday, January 29, at Hagley Oval, Christchurch.
Both the semifinals will start at 2:30 AM PKT| 10:30 AM New Zealand time.
