2nd T20: Pakistan’s Last Chance to Keep Series Alive

AUCKLAND: It would probably last opportunity for winless Pakistan to remain in the series with a victory when they face ruthless New Zealand.

The second Twenty20(T20) of the three-match series is scheduled today at 11 am PKT at Auckland, New Zealand.

The team’s morale is down after losing six consecutive matches on the tour so far. But, a big win today can turn the table for Pakistan.

Their performance in the first T20 was no different then the ODIs, as half of the team slumped to just 38 runs on the board. With Babar Azam (41) standing alone, Pakistan managed 105 runs on the board. New Zealand convincingly chased down the target in 16th over with 7 wickets in hand.

High-flying New Zealand will be eyeing T20 series win after securing a whitewash in five ODIs.

Pakistan have a chance to keep the series alive and head into the third and final game with some pride, and something worth playing for. They have already tried every player on the tour barring Ahmed Shehzad – given ample time to adjust to the conditions, to no avail.

In case of another defeat, Pakistan will slip down to 4th place in ICC T20 ranking. They are currently second on the list with New Zealand on top.
