Sri Lanka, Singapore to Sign Free Trade Deal Tomorrow

COLOMBO:  Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will arrive Colombo on Monday on a three-day official visit to Sri Lanka.

This visit is on an invitation of President Maithripala Sirisena, the two will meet for an official lunch today.

PM Lee will also meet his Sri Lankan counterpart Ranil Wickremesinghe and receive a courtesy call from the leader of the opposition, R Sampanthan.

A statement from the Singapore Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said the PM will also sign a free trade deal with his Lankan counterpart.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Trade and Industry (Industry) S Iswaran and other government officials will also accompany him on this visit.

After this trip, PM Lee will fly to New Delhi for a two-day visit to attend the ASEAN-India Commemorative Summit.
