WASHINGTON: A research report by American Pew Research Center has concluded that in next 22 years, Islam will be the second largest religion.
The research also suggests that India will be the country having largest Muslim population in the world.
“By 2040, Muslims will replace Jews as the nation’s second-largest religious group after Christians. And by 2050, the U.S. Muslim population is projected to reach 8.1 million, or 2.1% of the nation’s total population,” researchers said.
The Muslim population is growing all over the world including Europe and America. It has been said in the research that majority of youngsters are the followers of Islam.
The research analyzed that Europe’s Muslim population is projected to increase by about 10 million, from an estimated 25.8 million Muslims in 2016 to 35.8 million in 2050.
It further concluded that young French Muslim population will rise from 5.7 million (8.8% of the population) to 8.6 million (12.7%) in coming years.
This research has also discussed the other religions and their followers. Christian population will be 252,970,000 by 2020, almost 70 times more than Muslims.
