ISLAMABAD: Pakistani Foreign Minister Khwaja Asif has said that both India and Israel have formed a nexus against Muslims.
He insisted that their motives are evident from the occupation of Muslim territories. Khwaja Asif maintained that India has held the territory of Kashmir, while Israel is occupying a vast area of Palestine.
The minister mentioned that Pakistan has never recognised Israel. He also added that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been involved in killings of thousands of Muslims in Gujrat.
Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, while addressing a security conference in India, declared Islam a threat to both countries.
He stated that the two countries are discussing ways to strengthen security cooperation against the menace of ‘extremism’.
“Our way of life is being challenged, most notably, the quest for modernity, the quest for innovation [are] being challenged by Islam and its terrorist offshoots from a variety of corners,” he said.
Netanyahu is the second Israeli PM to visit India after Ariel Sharon in last 15 year.
Netanyahu’s trip comes just six months after Modi visited Israel. He was the first ever Indian premier to visit the disputed country. During the visit, Modi did not meet Palestinian Authority, a customary stop for world leaders visiting the region.
In past, Indian governments had kept a distance from Israel for decades to avoid Arab nations’ fury, on which it was dependent for oil, and heeding the sentiments of its own large Muslim minority.
