
Lahore: Chief Minister of Punjab Shehbaz Sharif has constituted a committee headed by Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah for suggesting measures for curbing child abuses in the province.
Protest continues throughout the country against the kidnapping, abduction and murder of 7-year-old Zainab in Kasur city, and a debate regarding child protection has just begun.
Following the horrific incident and debate over cases of child abuse in the country, the government has constituted a 20-member committee which will propose measures for curbing the menace including effective legislation.
The 20-member committee includes Minister of Education, Chairperson Child Protection Bureau and Inspector General of Police Punjab.
Teachers and scholars will also be consulted by the committee over the issue.
According to the notification, the committee will prepare recommendations for protection of the children. The committee will hold its meeting on a daily basis.
The committee will also review the work of police and will firm up recommendations for creating an awareness campaign.
