New York: New York residents staged protest demonstrations against the refugee camps set up under the City Mayor Eric Adams administration.
Several protesters, including former mayoral candidate Chris Silva, were arrested during an ongoing protest against the New York City administration’s move of constructing a massive “tent settlement” at the Creedmoor Psychiatric Center in Queens.
Residents protested against the ‘tent settlement’ set up for immigrants at the Creedmoor Psychiatric Center in the borough of Queens, New York.
The protestors were carrying placards and banners in their hands, while the sloganeering by the protestors continued intermittently.
The protestors said that the temporary residence established in the city should be closed. Housing 1,000 refugees in a tent settlement will destabilize the community.
Former mayoral candidate Chris Silva led the demonstration. During the demonstration, Chris Silva was arrested by the police for waving the flag of former President Donald Trump.
The protesters were warned by the New York Police Department that action will be taken if traffic flow is affected in any way during the demonstration.
Later, the police arrested several protesters in case of violation.
It should be noted that the civic administration has set up a new camp in Creedmoor Psychiatric Center in view of the increasing number of refugees. In which shelter will be provided to 1000 immigrants.
