Manhattan sexual harassment cases: NYPD nabs four accused, accelerates manhunt

NEW YORK: New York Police Department (NYPD) has claimed to have made progress in the investigation of three incidents of sexual harassment that occurred in Manhattan this week.

The police have accelerated the arrest process of the accused involved in sexual harassment incidents in the city.

Police officers say that they will leave no stone unturned in providing justice to the victims.

“Progress has been made in the investigation of three incidents of sexual harassment that occurred in Manhattan this week,” NYPD Chief of Detective James, Essig said at a press conference.

Flanked with other police officers, Essig said that the first incident of sexual harassment occurred on July 18 on West 79th Street near Riverside Park, the second incident on the same day at Northtown Riverside Park on 89th Street, while the third incident occurred on July 20th near 59th Street Riverside Park.

He said that after establishing the contact of the victims, the police called an important meeting in which the officials of the concerned institutions participated.

In the meeting, it was decided to investigate the incidents of sexual harassment.

NYPD’s Detective James chief said that with the help of all available resources, the police arrested a total of four suspects during the raid and registered cases against them including sexual harassment, firing and extortion.

The arrested accused also confessed to various crime acts. The police said that more revelations are coming out during the investigation of the arrested accused.

The police further said that the phone and other items have also been recovered from the possession of the accused.
