NYC Mayor hosts Iftar-Dinner, stresses for the religious harmony

Kids were asked Islamic Questions and awarded them with commemorative certificates

New York: New York City’s Mayor Eric Adams hosted an Iftar-Dinner in honor of his fellow Muslims citizens in Coney Island Avenue – widely known as the little Pakistan.

A large number of Muslims participated in this event which was actually an expression of religious harmony.

The bustling New York city is considered as one of the multi-cultural multi-ethnic cities in the US.

Iftar-Dinner event started with recitation of a few verses of the Holy Quran.

Atiya Shahnaz, the Muslim Liaison Officer of the New York Mayor’s Office played her vital role in organizing this blessed event in a great manner.

Earlier, Islamic questions were asked to the children who answered correctly.

Commemorative certificates were presented to encourage the children.

New York City Mayor Eric Adam expressed his views and said that respect for all religions is necessary for all of us.

Atiya Shahnaz informed about the services of the New York City Mayor’s Office for the empowerment and development of women.

US officials and others who attended the Iftar lauded this measure of religious tolerance

Deputy Inspector Adeel Rana, President of the New York Police Department’s Muslim Officers Society, paid tribute to Atiya Shahnaz for her services.

The ladies posed for selfies with Mayor Eric Adams, while also presenting him with bouquets.

The participants described the Iftar dinner as an important milestone for community bonding.
