MALEA hosts an Iftar Dinner and Awards Ceremony

11 officers from the law enforcement agencies were honored for their services.

New Jersey: Muslim American Law Enforcement Association (MALEA) hosted its third annual Iftar Dinner and Awards Ceremony in New Jersey.

The event was attended by US Attorney Philip Rabner Sellinger, New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin, New Jersey State Police Colonel and Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness Director Laurie Doran and others.

The 3rd Iftar Dinner and Awards Ceremony was held at Al Wali Mosque in New Jersey.

12 county prosecutors and others also attended the event.

In the ceremony, eleven officers from the law enforcement agencies were honored for their services.

Other female Muslim police officers, including New Jersey’s first Muslim police officer in Scarf, Hiba Al-Atiq, were also encouraged.

On this occasion, the speakers congratulated the Muslim community on Ramadan and expressed solidarity with the Muslim community and supported them in every possible way.

The participants of the event expressed their happiness to be a part of the Iftar dinner event, and congratulated the Muslim American Law Enforcement Association for organizing such a wonderful event.

Kamil Waraich, president of the Muslim American Law Enforcement Association, said he will continue to work to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the Muslim community and bring both sides to understand each other’s perspectives and concerns.

Participants thanked the Muslim American Law Enforcement Association for hosting the Iftar dinner and awards ceremony.
