New York: The scheduled town hall meeting, which was set to take place on March 3, 2023, has now been canceled.
In a statement USA Cricket said: “We regret to inform you that the scheduled town hall meeting, which was set to take place on March 3, 2023, has been canceled. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.”
USA Cricket and ACE are communicating on operational procedures and policies with regards to Ace’s minor league cricket operations. Out of respect for these conversations, the proposed town hall schedule for this morning will be postponed to a future time. USAC is taking this issue very seriously and is working diligently to ensure the positive growth of cricket in the USA.
The town hall was intended to provide an opportunity for the USAC board to connect with owners and players of MiLC to discuss and to understand the various aspects of the operations and how USA Cricket can help them.
We value the importance of communication between the community and USA Cricket, and we are committed to finding alternative ways to ensure that these conversations can take place.
The statement further said: “We appreciate the community’s understanding and cooperation in this matter. Please stay tuned for updates regarding future town hall meetings.”
Earlier, In a press statement regarding the pending sanctioning request for the 2023 Minor League Cricket tournament, USA Cricket interim chair Atul Rai said, “With regards to Ace’s Minor league cricket operations, the USA Cricket and its Board of Directors are taking this matter seriously and they are concerned about the plight of the players and the owners. However, they are equally concerned about the operations of Minor league by ACE without any accountability and its failure to follow the USA Cricket guidelines, not to mention the lack of communication.
USA Cricket has recently sent a letter to ACE, that includes several questions on Minor League operations by ACE that we hope to get a quick response timely to allow for sanctioning of the event.”
In the meanwhile, to provide full transparency, USA Cricket had decided host a town hall this Friday, March 3, 2023, at 8 am PST / 11 am EST to discuss and to understand the various aspects of the operations and how USA Cricket can help the owners and players, however the meeting has now been cancelled due to reasons best known to the USA Cricket authorities.
