APAG’s Holiday Toy Driver for Asylum Seeker Children

American Pakistani Advocacy Group (APAG) organized a third annual Holiday Toy Drive for recently migrated asylum seeker children at Red Cross Headquarters, New York. Founder and President of APAG Ali Rashid, NYC Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs Commissioner Manuel Castro, and others attended the event.

APAG distributed toys among the children of asylum seekers in collaboration with the NYC Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs.

Founder and President of APAG Ali Rashid said that the reason to arrange a toy drive this holiday season is to help and support the migrants. It’s our fifth drive this year and our main focus is to help those who came from hardships. 

Commissioner Manuel Castro, Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs, thanked APAG to bring the joy on the faces of the asylum seeker families and children. Commissioner Manuel Castro said that asylum seekers have gone through a lot to be here and are living in difficult times.

Organizers said that as we are also part of an immigrant family so we can better understand the difficulties faced by them, and this holiday season we want to support them.

Ali Rashid thanked Commissioner Manuel Castro, the APAG team, and others for their efforts.
