
New York: Renowned Pakistani American social activist Raja Hassan Ahmad has become the first-ever Pakistani Origin Muslim who has taken the oath of Brentwood School District Board Member.
The oath-taking ceremony was held in the conference room of Brentwood School building at New York’s Suffolk County Long Island. He took the oath by taking the Holy Quran over his head.
Raja Hassan has become the board member of the school after a cut-throat competition with his opponents.
Raja Hassan has defeated a contestant who had been serving as an elected president of the school for the consecutive 9 years.
The time period for elected representatives of board members is three years. Hassan distributed traditional Pakistani sweets (Jalebi) at Masjid-e-Darul Quran in New York on his historic victory
