
New York: At least five people including a teenager and two women were shot injured by unknown assailants near a popular amusement area in the in New York City’s Coney Island on Sunday. One of them is stated to be in a critical condition.
Investigations were underway to arrest the culprit involved in this brutal shooting incident. However, no arrests were made till publishing of this report.
Following the incident law enforcement agencies rushed to the site, cordoned off the area and began collecting evidences. While the rescuers rushed the victims to hospitals medical aid.
‘Daily News’ reported while quoting police and an NYPD spokesman: “The attacker opened fire on a crowd standing near W. 20th St. on the Riegelmann Boardwalk about 2 a.m. Police recovered 28 shell casings on the scene.”
Police say there was a large group that gathered at the location when someone opened fire.
A 37-year-old was shot in the back, a 19-year-old man was also shot in the back, two women, a 27-year-old and 26-year-old, were both shot in the leg while a 36-year-old man was shot in the chin and is in stable condition.
