With the blessings of Ramadan Kareem, APNA Brooklyn Community Center has begins its welfare activities in collaboration with Islamic Relief USA at APNA office and distributes freshly cooked halal Iftar meals, Fresh fruits and vegetables, halal meat and food packages.
CEO Erum Hanif, of APNA community center, said Ramadan package distributions includes 700 freshly cooked halal Iftar meals and more than 600 Halal whole chickens including food packages.
APNA and its partner distribute food packages which served 600 families and Ramadan package supplies for more than 3000 individuals. Each package is more than 40 pounds.
These food packages includes 15 items including flour, rice, halal whole chicken, sugar, gram flour, vegetable oil, canned beans, vermicelli, dates, syrup, pasta, chilli powder, turmeric powder and coriander seeds.
APNA Volunteers delivered the message that fasting is not only the hunger and thirst but it is the lesson of patience and sacrifice.
Erum Hanif praises the initiative of Re-Think Food Bank, NY Office Comptroller’s under the umbrella of Islamic Relief USA, for their cooperation in Ramdan Food distributions.
