Pakistani Council General in Los Angeles Abdul Jabbar Memon passes away in America. He was suffering in cancer from past three years. Pakistan consulate in Los Angeles confirmed the news on its twitter account.

Pakistan’s new ambassador to the Los Angeles Masood Khan has written in his condolence message on social networking site that Abdul Jabbar Memon was not only the best diplomat but also a very good kind hearted man. Pakistan and foreign diplomats are saddened by this great loss.

Abdul Jabbar Memon belonged to Tando Jam a small city of ​​Sindh. He joined the Civil Service in December 1990 while the Foreign Service of Pakistan in July 1993. Abdul Jabbar has held various important positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad. He has served as Assistant Director Afghanistan, Establishment 4, Director Mission Services, Director General Europe and DG Afghanistan.

Abdul Jabbar Memon was the Third Secretary at the Pakistan Embassy in Spain, the First Secretary at the Pakistani Embassy in Egypt and the Consul General of the Pakistan High Commission in South Africa. He was appointed Consul General in Los Angeles on December 21, 2015. He has been Consul General for almost seven years, the longest tenure of any Consul General in Los Angeles.
