India top singer Lata Mangeshkar breathed last in the age of 92 at Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai on Sunday. The “Bulbulay Hindustaan”, will be laid to rest at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park with full state honors. Prime Minister Narendra Modi,

including country’s top personalities including political social sports personalities and film stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Sachil Tendulkar will pay tribute to her.

She was the daughter of Pandit Deenanath Mangeshkar and Shevanti Mangeshkar and belonged to a musical family. Her father was a famous theatre artiste and Marathi musician. She was barred from music and first tutored by her father but later she appeared as a child artiste in several of her father plays.
Lata Mangeshkar recorded her first Hindi song called “Mata Ek Sapoot Ki Duniya Badal De Tu” for the Marathi feature Gajaabhaau, which had released in 1943. Later, she went on to collaborate with some of the most popular names of the Hindi music industry, including the likes of Anil Biswas, Shankar Jaikishan, Naushad Ali and SD Burman among others.
She have a title of “Bulbulay Hindustaan” while she has given her voice to more than thirty thousand songs in thirty different regional languages including Hindi, Bengali and Marathi. She has been honored with the Dadasahib Phalke Award, Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhushan as well as several National and Filmfare Awards.
