Nine contractors arrested in Brooklyn over alleged bribery case.

The Brooklyn District Attorney and New York City Investigation Department have arrested more than half a dozen contractors.

According to Brooklyn District Attorney and New York City Investigation Department, the contractors have been arrested on charges of bribing New York City Housing Authority officials to obtain public housing contracts in Brooklyn.

Nine contractors reportedly appeared before authorities last week. One contractor tried to bribe New York City Public Housing Authority officials to obtain a contract, after which an “undercover” investigation was launched.

Brooklyn district attorney has said that arrested contractors if convicted, could face up to seven years in prison. These contractors belong to the Sikh community.
