Pakistani comedian Umer Sharif has passed away, confirms wife Zareen Umer’s sister. Three days after his stay in Germany, Pakistan’s legendary comedian was expected to resume his travel to the United States for medical treatment, but the departure was postponed due to a critical condition.
Umer Sharif had been admitted to a hospital in Germany’s Nuremberg on Wednesday after his health condition deteriorated during his flight to the United States. The comedian was diagnosed with multiple ailments including coronary conditions. He was shifted to the hospital after the air ambulance carrying Umer Sharif made a scheduled landing in Germany.

He was due to travel to the US last week but he could not because of his deteriorating health condition. The federal and provincial governments were assisting in the medical treatment of the celebrated artist.
Sharif started his career as a stage actor in 1974 at the age of 14 and released his plays on audio cassettes for the first time in 1980. The artist was known as a TV, stage actor, and film director. He became very popular not only in the country but also across the border as well. He has worked in showbiz for nearly 50 and has performed in dozens of plays, stage theaters, and live shows.
Soon after the news of his death broke, fellow artists and celebrities took to social media and offered condolences to the family.
