Pak PM, Napali leaders discuss bilateral relations, SAARC summit

KATHMANDU: Visiting Pakistani Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Nepali Communist Party leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal held important discussion raning from bilateral issues to region and SAARC Summit issues.

Talking to media briefly the Napali Leader Chairperson Dahal said that matters related to bilateral relations and mutual interests were discussed in the meeting.

In around 45-minute talk, they also discussed the measures for improving bilateral trade and economic relations between Nepal and Pakistan.

CPN MC Chair Dahal who has also previously served as Prime Minister was quoted as saying that during the discussion both sides stressed the need of initiative from all member-states to revitalise the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).

According to Nepali media reports the meeting was also attended by Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Krishna Bahadur Mahara and Jokh Bahadur Mahara along with Chairperson Dahal.

Earlier Pakistan PM also met with Nepali Prime Minister Pakistan Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli and other high officials including  finance minister Dr Yuvaraj Khatiwada.

Before returning back home Pakistani Prime Minister also paid a  courtesy call on President Bidya Devi Bhandari.

According to a press statement issued by the President’s Office today, matters related to bilateral relations and mutual interest were discussed in the meeting.

High level officials including Minister for Finance Dr Yubaraj Khatiwada, Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal Mazhar Javed, Ambassador of Nepal to Pakistan Sewa Lamsal Adhikari among others were present in the meeting.-VOSA Report.
