Riyadh, KSA,

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced that due to pandemic, only 60,000 locals will be allowed to perform Hajj this year, while only those living in Saudi Arabia will be able to perform Hajj.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah said that the pilgrims between the ages of 18 and 65 who are healthy and do not suffer from any permanent disease will be allowed to perform Hajj, according to Saudi media. Those who vaccinated 14 days in advance will also be allowed to perform Hajj.

The safety of Hajj pilgrims is a top priority for the Saudi government, and Islamic law also taught the safety and security of human lives. These measures have been taken in view of the fears of spreading a global pandemic due to large crowds during Hajj.

Last year, only 10,000 pilgrims were allowed to perform the Hajj, including 30 percent Saudis and 70 percent expatriates resided in Saudi Arabia.
