KABUL: Afghan security forces say they have killed at least four Taliban insurgents and wounded five others in an operation in southern Helmand province on Saturday.
This was said in a statement by the provincial governor’s office.
The operation was launched in Gereshk district of the province to clear the area of insurgents, according to the statement.
Officials also said, “some weapons belonging to the Taliban were seized by security forces during the operation.”
However, the statement did not provide further details.
There is no confirmation or denial from the Taliban spokesman.
