
WASHINGTON: The US security forces have placed White House on lock after gunshots were heard in the vicinity.
The surrounding area was also cordoned off by emergency personnel Saturday after an apparent gunshot was heard.
The US Secret Service said on Twitter that it was responding “to reports of a person who allegedly suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound along the north fence line of @White House.”

It further said they were ‘responding to the male victim,’ adding that there were ‘no other injuries related to the incident.’

The Services have also confirmed that none of the First Family members was present in the White House at the time of the incident.
