Kevin Shakil, the first Muslim youngster in the Westbury area of Long Island in New York, has been appointed as commission of the Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC). Kevin’s father Shakil Sheikh used to drive a taxi in New York.
Peter Cavallaro, mayor of the Westbury area of Long Island in New York, has recommended the appointment of Kevin Shakil, a Pakistani-born Spanish Muslim, as regional commission of the TLC, board has approved and now he has been appointed as commission of TLC in the Westbury.
Kevin Shakil is the first Muslim to be appointed to the post and is also the founder of America’s Islamic Radio (AIR).
According to Kevin Shakil everything can be achieved through hard work. The Pakistani community has congratulated Kevin’s father Shakil Sheikh on his appointment.
According to Kevin Shakil’s father, he used to be a taxi driver in New York and today his son is in a good position in a TLC in the same city and my happiness cannot be described.
