Protests erupted in the British capital, London, despite lockdown restrictions. After clashes with police dozens of protesters were arrested.
The demonstrators gathered to pay tribute after murder of a woman, but the gathering turned bitter and the protesters refused to disperse peacefully. A police officer has been arrested in connection with the murder of 33-year-old Sarah Eward.
The woman’s body was later recovered from the jungle, causing anxiety and fear among British citizens, especially women. Echoes of this incident were also heard on the international media.
The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom expressed his condolences to the bereaved family and said that the whole country was united against the killing. Britain’s Princess Kate Middleton also paid tribute to the slain woman and laid flowers.
