Protest camps set up by Indian minorities in front of UNHRC head office.

Protest camps set up by Indian minorities in front of UNHRC head office. Protesters held placards with slogans against Indian government and Hindu extremists. The protest camp also lodged brochures and pamphlets with pictures and banners of atrocities against minorities in India.

Demonstrators said that since Modi government came to power, the incidence of exploitation in the name of religion has increased and these extremists have government patronage. Minorities are being forcibly converted to Hinduism.

The participants further said that Muslims are being killed in the name of cows, Places of worship are being set on fire. Minority students also face religious hatred in educational institutions. The RSS, Bharatiya Janata Party, Bajrang Dal, Shiv Sena and Vishwa Hindu Parishad specifically targeted Muslims, Christians and Sikhs.

Many international organizations have expressed concern over the inhumane treatment of minorities in India, violence and killings on false charges.
