China Offers to Assist Afghan Peace Process

KABUL: China has offered to assist Afghanistan Peace Process initiated by President Ashraf Ghani on Wednesday his speech at the Kabul Process Summit.

This was initiated by China’s Foreign Ministry on Friday, reported TOLONews.

The ministry says its government appreciates the efforts for reconciliation made by the Afghan government and President Ghani.

The Chinese official welcomed Afghan President’s peace offer to the Taliban.

“China is willing to provide assistance to the Afghan reconciliation and peaceful reconstruction process as our capacity allows,” Hua Chunying said.

She said China has often supported an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process.

Hua said China appreciates the efforts made by the Afghan government and President Ashraf Ghani for reconciliation.

“We hope all relevant parties can work for the shared goal, enhance dialogue and consultations, discard difference and achieve the lasting peace, development and stability in Afghanistan as well as possible,” she added.
