United States is in the grip of a severe cold these days, and it is a severe test for homeless peoples. Situation is similar in Dallas, Muslim welfare organization ICNA Relief, the Muslim American Society (MAS), Association of Pakistani Physicians in North America (APPNA) and region’s largest Islamic center, the Irving Islamic Center, have identified needy and taken practical steps to help them.
Dozens of volunteers, including women, collected supplies throughout the day and a large number of essential items were collected in 24 hours. Welfare organizations volunteers packed hundreds of packets of hygiene kits, socks, warm clothes and blankets, including essential food items, which were donated to homeless people at Dallas Convention Center by renowned religious scholars Omar Salman, Dr. Uzair and Zahid Hussain of Hunger Prevention. On the occasion, young clerics Omar Salman and Zahid Hussain said that Muslims living in the US stand by their neighbors in the field of public service.
The officials of the Dallas Convention Center appreciated the spirit of Muslims. Pastor Wang said that work of Muslims in the service of humanity in America is exemplary. Welfare organization ICNA Relief and APPNA appeals to all to take care of the needy around them in this severe cold weather and serve humanity without any discrimination.
