121 Pakistanis, 33 Indians Deported from US

WASHINGTON: The United States have deported 121 Pakistanis and 33 Indians in an ongoing crackdown against illegal immigrants in the country.

According to Hindustan Times, An unscheduled flight landed on Delhi Airport on February 14, filled with South Asian deportees, who were being dropped off in their countries of origin after illegally living in the US, according to several people familiar with the matter.

The flight then proceeded to Islamabad from New Delhi to drop off the Pakistani nationals, said a CISF officer on the condition of anonymity.

“The flight landed at around 8:30am on February 14. We were informed in advance about the movement of a large number of deportees. Officials from the external affairs ministry were present and facilitated the movement. After completing the formalities, the passengers were sent to their respective states,” he added.

The Trump administration has started a crackdown on illegal migrants. The President issued an executive order titled “Enhancing Public Safety in the Interior of the United States” on January 25, 2017 directing “agencies to employ all lawful means to ensure the faithful execution of the immigration laws of the United States against all removable aliens”.
