NEW DELHI: A groom bridegroom and his grandmother killed while opening wedding gifts in Odisha’s Bolangir district, India.
This happened when one of the gifts containing explosive material in it, blasted. The bride also sustained injuries.
According to Indian media reports, the victim, identified as Sehu, and his grandmother, Jemamani Sahu, succumbed to their wounds at a local hospital.
His wife was said to be in a critical condition.
Patnargarh police have collected the evidences from the scene and have launched an inquiry.
The police have not yet found the type of explosive used in the incident.
However, they suspect that it was given out by someone from the area.
