Australian Batting Sensation Chris Lynn Ruled Out of PSL 3

DUBAI: Hard-hitting Australian opening batsmen Chris Lynn has been ruled out of the third edition of HBL PSL 2018.

Lynn, who was supposed to join his parent franchise Lahore Qalandars on Friday, suffered a shoulder injury Wednesday during the final of trans-Tasman T20 tri-series against New Zealand.

Lahore Qalandars have not yet his replacement.

After the injury, Lynn had to leave the field in 9th over of the first innings and did not return to bat.

Australia’s medical staff said Lynn would fly to Brisbane for further tests, but he is most likely to miss the PSL 3, starting from tomorrow.

“I’m disappointed to not go to the Pakistan Super League as planned (this week), but I’ll now focus on rehabilitation and working as hard as I can, with the hope to still take part in the Indian Premier League later this year,” he said.

“Chris dislocated his right shoulder after landing awkwardly on it when fielding the ball,” said Bupa Support Team Physiotherapist Alex Kountouris.

“His shoulder was able to be put back into place on the ground and he was consequently sent for X-Rays which revealed no major bone injury.

“At this stage, Chris will not travel to the Pakistan Super League in Dubai. He will return to Brisbane to undergo further scans and assessment and from there we will have a better understanding of the ongoing management, along with the return to play timeframes.”
