Pakistan Protests against Indian Ceasefire Violations

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Foreign Office (FO) has lodged a formal protest with Indian High Commissioner in Pakistan JP Singh against India’s ceasefire violations.

FO summoned Singh in the office today and to condemn India’s continuous ceasefire violations.

Director General (SA & SAARC) Dr Mohammad Faisal condemned the ceasefire violation by the Indian forces in the Khuiratta Sector of Jijot Bahadar village.

An unprovoked firing from the Indian side of the border had claimed the life of an eight-year-old boy Ayan Zahid on Monday.

Pakistan Army’s media wing, (ISPR) tweeted the death news of Ayan in the Jajot village of Azad Kashmir.

On February 11, three civilians including two women were injured in Indian firing along the LoC in Battal, Hot Spring and Khuiratta sectors.

Unprecedented escalation in ceasefire violations by India has been continuing since the year 2017 when the Indian forces committed more than 19,00 ceasefire violations. In 2018, Indian forces have committed more than 150 violations, prompting a befitting response from the Pakistani side.
