Ashraf Ghani Rejects Pakistan PM’s Phone Call

KABUL: Afghan President Ashraf Ghani refused to take a condolence call from Pakistani Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Afghan media reported.

Afghan news website TOLONews stated Wednesday that Ghani did not take a phone call from PM Abbasi in connection with the spate of recent attacks in Kabul.

However, Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan denied such reports claiming “no phone call has taken place.”

According to Afghan daily, the phone call was made after President Ghani sent a delegation to “handover evidence related to recent attacks in Kabul” to be shared with Pakistani authorities.

Foreign Office spokesperson Muhammad Faisal confirmed that a high-level delegation from Afghanistan has arrived in Pakistan to discuss cooperation between the two countries.

However, there was no word from the Pakistan Foreign Office on the rumoured phone call.
