SEOUL: North Korea announced on Tuesday it was calling off a joint cultural performance in Winter Olympics with South Korea.
The performance was cancelled duet South Korean media’s continuous anti-North Korean propaganda, theUnification Ministry of North said.
This cultural event was part of pre-Winter Olympics ceremonies. The event was to be held in the North Korean territory of Mount Kumgang on February 4th.
This announcement came a week ahead of the Winter Olympics, which will be held in PyeongChang, South Korea from 9 to 25 February.
South Korea has declared the decision ‘very regrettable’ and stressed Pyongyang to fulfil all the commitments.
Earlier this month, the two Koreas had agreed to perform together in the pre-Winter Olympics ceremonies.
Total ten North Koreans players are participating in various sports. Apart from these players, the North had also agreed on sending hundreds of delegates, cheerleaders, and performers.
More Than 40 countries are participating in the event.
