Manru, Johnson Out as PSL 2018 Replacement Draft Completes

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) conducted a replacement draft for the third edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL 3) on Monday.

It took place at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore.

The draft was called for the replacement of players who are either unavailable for the tournament or will leave early for national duty.

Karachi Kings have replaced Colin Munro with Lendl Simmons, who was unavailable due to the national call. Whereas, English pacer Tymal Mills was picked in place of Mitchell Johnson in Kings squad.

Swashbuckling English opener, Luke Wright has also withdrawn from the tournament due to injury. However, he was hopeful to participate in the next round of the league.

He was replaced with English County player Joe Denly.


West Indies T20 skipper Carlo Braithwaite had to pull out of the PSL after being named in the 15-man national squad for the World Cup 2019 qualifier. Pace sensation Jofra Archer will play in his instead for Quetta Gladiators.

Lahore Qalandars had only one change with hard-hitting batsman Anton Devcich replacing Sri Lanka’s Angelo Mathews.

The third season of the cricket league will get started on Feb 22.
