Eight people were killed and 33 others sustained injuries as a blast hit the southern gate of Kabul University in Afghnaistan on Friday.
“33 people have been wounded and 8 more were killed in today’s explosion in PD 3rd of Kabul city,” Wahidullah Mayar, spokesperson of Afghanistan’s Public Health Ministry, said on Twitter.
The injured people have been under treatment, Mayar added.
The blast happened as students were waiting outside the university to take their exams when two vehicles caught fire following the explosion.
It is still unclear what caused the blast.
