29 killed in lightning strikes across Bihar, India

At least 29 people have been killed by lightning in the last 36 hours across Bihar State of India.

This is the biggest casulity in lightning strikes this monsoon season. Eleven people on July 20th in lightning strikes.

Jamui district has reported eight deaths, Aurangabad district saw seven deaths, in Banka districted five deaths were reported. While Bhagalpur, Nalanda and Sasaram repoted two deaths in each State. One person each was killed in Munger, Arwal and Katihar.

The state government has announced Rs 4lacs compensation to the next kin of each victim. Bihar disaster management has been advertising about precautions to escape lightning.

On 21st July, lightning caused 33 deaths and 13 injuries in the north Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
