2017 Ranked the Warmest Year of the Century: NASA

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) revealed that the year 2017 has been the hottest year of the century. 2017 is also ranked second hottest year since 1880.

Continuing the planet’s long-term warming trend, globally averaged temperatures in 2017 was 1.62 degrees Fahrenheit (0.90 degrees Celsius) warmer than 1951 to 1980 mean, analysis by NASA scientists reveal.

The report published states that, “despite colder than average temperatures in any part of the world, temperatures over the planet as a whole continue toward rapid warming trend we’ve seen over the last 40 years.”

During the previous year, everyone on the streets was claiming and gossiping about the warmest year but now this report has also confirmed it.

This year recorded only two percent increase in the temperature of the world. According to severe heat, 2016 was ranked as third and 2015 was ranked the fifth hottest year.

Scientists have announced an increase in heat in the coming years, 2018 is also expected to be another record-breaking warm.
