SRINAGAR: The people of Indian occupied Kashmir protested against a brutal rape and murder case of an eight-year-old girl in Kathua district.
Kashmir Media Service reported Thursday that Asifa Bano had gone missing a week ago. Her body was found today in the Hiranagar tehsil of Hindu-dominated Kathua district.
Police official confirmed the report adding that the body was shifted to District Hospital Kathua for the postmortem.
“A minor girl, missing for the past one week was found dead in Rasana village of Hiranagar tehsil of the district. We have shifted the body to District Hospital Kathua for the postmortem.”
Police said there were serious injury marks on the face of the girl.
Meanwhile, the opposition staged a walkout from the puppet Kashmir Assembly as well to protest the murder.
The Kashmir Assembly’s opposition stood-up to protest the murder of Asifa Bano as the House proceedings began and walked out of the puppet assembly.
The opposition legislators said that police did not make any effort to trace the girl after she was abducted.
