ISLAMABAD: Indonesian President Joko Widodo has arrived in Islamabad on a two-day visit, starting from Friday.
This will be his first visit to Pakistan. First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo will also accompany him.
A statement from the Pakistan Foreign Ministry said the dignitary visitor will address a Joint Session of the Parliament this afternoon. Joko Widodo will be only second Indonesian President Dr Ahmed Soekarno to address the parliament.
“President Widodo’s visit will contribute towards strengthening existing fraternal ties between the two countries,” the Foreign Ministry said.
President Mamnoon Hussain will host a state feast in honour of his counterpart later today.
Indonesian President will hold a one-on-one meeting with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, o on Saturday. The two dignitaries will also address a joint press conference after the meeting.
This will be followed by delegation-level talks between the two countries. Various agreements and MoUs are expected to be signed on the occasion.
