Riyaz Khokhar, a leading businessman of the Pakistani community in New York, organized a fundraising event at his residence in the Queens area, in connection with the election campaign of US Congressman Tom Suozzi.
Town Mayor Sadaf Jafar, PACOLI President Qamar Bashir along with a number of businessmen of the Pakistani community attended this event.
Speaking on the occasion, Riaz Khokhar appealed to the community to make Tom Suozzi successful in his election, He stated that the Congressman has always raised and resolved the problems of the Pakistani community on a priority basis.
In his special address as the guest of honor, Congressman Tom Suozzi briefed the community about his efforts for the well being of the community, mapping his strategies out for effective service for them in the future.
He said that the Indian voters were exasperated by his letter that described Indian atrocity in the state of Kashmir, but he didn’t withdraw his writing.
Sadaf Jaffer, Mayor of a New York town, who participated in fundraising, also expressed her views and detailed his educational career with the journey of political struggle. On the occasion, she said that the best decisions can be taken for their rights and future by participating in the political electoral process, so the community must be part of the American political system
Towards to the end of the ceremony, some personalities of the Pakistani community were awarded with honorary certificates in recognition of their services.
